Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs
Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs
Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs (CMH), Ceramic Discharge Metal Halide (CDM), or Light Emitting Ceramic (LEC). They are all different names for the same bulb. Currently CMH/LEC have the best H.I.D grow lamp technology on the market. Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs outperforms the PAR spectrum of any other H.I.D bulb, 10-15% more efficient , and slowest degradation rate of any H.I.D lamp.
Some advantages of using a Ceramic Metal Halide Bulb is that it has a high CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 90-92. An HPS Bulb has a CRI of 20-30 and MH bulb has 60-65. This makes Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs 8 points off from the most natural light source available which is our sun. You will also be providing your plants with UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, and IR spectrum similar to the sun, which is very beneficial to your plants trichome development. Also, on average Ceramic Metal Halide Bulbs can last over 20,000 hours. To add to that, they still keep 80% of its initial output spectrum after 20,000 hours. MH & HPS bulbs deteriorate at a much faster rate.
